Elevator car door locking device

In an elevator car door locking device, a doorstop side panel is disposed on a car door by means of a link mechanism and horizontally displaceable between a locked position and an unlocked position farther from a door pocket than the locked position. A balance weight is disposed on a side of the pivot axis of the link opposite the doorstop side leaf. The doorstop side panel contacts and is offset with a landing door engagement member, and the balance weight is also displaced away from the doorstop side panel due to the cab door movement toward the door pocket side when a cab is in a floor position.
