The invention relates to an air conditioning system (S_CLIM) for a vehicle, comprising: a heat exchanger (COND / EVA) arranged at the front of the vehicle and called a frontal heat exchanger, an air conditioning group (HVAC) having an evaporator (EVA_PCM , 3-FLUID-EVA), wherein the air conditioning system (S_CLIM) is adapted to switch between - a first mode, referred to as heat pump mode, which allows heating of the vehicle interior, - a second mode, defrosting of the frontal heat exchanger (COND / EVA), the air conditioning group (HVAC) having means for extracting air volumes originating from outside the vehicle and / or from the passenger compartment. With the air conditioning system (S_CLIM) it is possible to carry out the following: a storage of the heat energy of a first volume of air taken by the extraction means during the first mode, the release of at least part of the stored energy for heating one by the evaporator (EVA_PCM, 3); FLUID-EVA) flowing cooling fluid during the second mode.
