Armrest with different lateral stiffness

摘要

An automotive armrest will be described. The armrest allows lateral movement in an outward direction while resisting inward movement. The arm rest facilitates occupant exit and reduces injury in a collision. The lateral outer movement of the armrest is non-destructive and the armrest returns to a default position after elimination of the external force.
