The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for investigating the naphtha reforming process in catalyst test apparatus with parallel reactors. The apparatus has a plurality of reactors arranged in parallel with reaction spaces (R1, R2,...), A feedstock fluid feed, a process control, at least one analysis unit. Each individual reactor has a product fluid stream exit line, the analysis unit being operatively connected to each of these product fluid stream exit lines, and the apparatus being operatively associated with the control of the apparatus. In carrying out the process, naphtha-side reactant fluid streams in the individual reactors are contacted with catalyst, and then the graft fluid streams from the respective exit lines of the individual reactors are fed to the on-line analysis unit and analyzed. On the basis of the evaluation of the online analytical characterization data, the process parameters of the respective reactor unit are adapted. The process steps of analytical characterization, evaluation and adaptation of process parameters are repeated for the duration of the investigation.
