The invention relates to a method for controlling the pre-selection, in a hybrid vehicle, of a gearbox ratio comprising a sliding gear, rotatably secured to an output shaft while being capable of translating, and including a dog clutch and a synchroniser capable of being coupled with an idle pinion mounted freely rotatable on the output shaft. Said method comprises a first step (40) in which at least one predefined minimum force is exerted on the sliding gear, when in purely electric mode, so as to translate the synchroniser at a first minimum speed in order to cause synchronisation coupling of the synchroniser with the idle pinion, and a second step (50) in which a force greater than a first predefined threshold and capable of urging the dog clutch to shift the synchroniser at an angle is exerted on the sliding gear, and then the dog clutch is translated at a second minimum speed so as to cause same to couple with the idle pinion.
