METHOD OF ESTIMATING THE DOSE DELIVERED BY AN EXTERNAL RADIATION THERAPY SYSTEM

The invention relates to a method for estimating the dose delivered by an external radiotherapy system. The portal image provided by the EPID detector is converted into a dose at a reference depth in the water, using a simple conversion formula. Reciprocally from a set dose distribution, it is possible to determine the corresponding portal image under the same irradiation conditions. The invention may especially apply to the verification of a treatment plan.
