The present invention relates to a process for the treatment of waste of biological origin, such as the excrement, in view of their conversion into compost or other nitrogenous compound. Said method comprises steps: - for the preparation of a substrate, said first substrate, in the form of a mixture comprising the straw and of the chips, - of the seeding of the first substrate with a bacterial complex comprising at least one non-pathogenic bacillus and one non-pathogenic lactobacillus, - of contact, with said waste of biological origin to be treated, the first substrate seeded in order to form a substrate called the second substrate, - forced feed in a stream of gas containing oxygen of the second substrate, at least until a temperature equal to 55°C.
