A method of calibrating an augmented reality visual rendering system comprising at least one partially transparent display device, relative to its user, comprising at least one of the following steps: - displaying a calibration curve in two dimensions (CE2D) on a partially transparent display device (3) of the partially transparent display device; recording a three-dimensional curve (C3D) described by the user by means of a three-dimensional pointing device (5) so that the trajectory described by the three-dimensional pointing device (5) is aligned, according to the user's point of view, with the two-dimensional calibration curve (CE2D) displayed on the display (5); and - mapping the three-dimensional curve (C3D) and the two-dimensional calibration curve (CE2D) displayed on the display (5); and comprising a step of calibrating said augmented reality visual rendering system by determining the parameters of a model for representing the assembly comprising the user's eye 1 and the partially transparent display device (5) of the partially transparent display device on which the eye (1) looks, from said mapping.
