The invention relates to an absorbent solution, and a process using this solution, for selectively removing H2S from a gaseous effluent containing H2S and CO2. The absorbent solution comprises: water, at least one main nitrogen compound comprising at least one tertiary amine function or a hindered secondary amine function, at least one nitrogenous compound of the family of tertiary polyetheralkanolamines of general formula (I) x: an integer between 0 and 10, R1: independently chosen from an alkyl radical comprising from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, which can be joined to form a heterocycle with 5, 6, 7 atoms, and a hydroxyalkyl radical containing 1 to 4 atoms carbon, R2: divalent radical that can take different forms.
