The object of the invention is a monomode optical fiber (10) comprising, from its center towards its periphery: a monomode core (12); at least one sheath surrounding said core, characterized in that it comprises at least one region (12) configured to have an index profile (15) comprising at least one negative index bearing when said optical fiber (10) is in a non-active state and a substantially constant positive index profile when said optical fiber is in an active state, the index differences between the two states of the optical fiber corresponding to the index variations induced by a thermal effect occurring in said at least one a region of the optical fiber when the optical fiber is in the active state.
