Superimposing a 3D garment image on a 3D virtual body model to be displayed on a screen of a device. Also disclosed is displaying a plurality of 3D garment images overlaid onto a plurality of 3D virtual body models. Also disclosed is the dynamic modification of this superimposition based on sensor-detected position changes of the device by detecting a position change using sensors and modifying clothing superimposition in response to position change. Also disclosed is generating and displaying 3D garment image comprising approximating 3D geometry model of 2D torso-based garment model by closely following geometry of underlying body shape around upper body, and approximating to elliptic cylinder with varying axis lengths centred at origin of body around lower body. The position sensor may be an accelerometer, gyroscope or magnetometer that may rotate composite rendered images by tilting the screen of camera enabled smartphone or tablet. 3D stereoscopic cameras and a head tracker may be used with parallax views. Social media integration may allow users to share, like and follow others using finger-swiping of a mobile devices touchscreen. Customisation may allow user profile editing of their virtual avatars height, weight, waist and hip sizing or skin tone.
