Grid-connected fuel cell system for providing heat and electrical power

The system has an electrical inverter converting direct current of the fuel cells into alternating current and operating in two states, where in one state feeds into a public network and in another feeds into an island network. A control line is provided for short-term maintenance of functions with respect to a power cut of the public network. The controls and circuits maintain the functions using supply line. An Independent claim is also included for a method for operating the space heating system.
