The present invention is directed to a microcapsule comprising a partially alkylated capsule wall, characterized in that the alkylation of said wall is comprised between 2 and 25%. The present invention is further directed to a process for preparing a substantially leach-proof microcapsule and their use in active-catalyzed polymerization reactions to form sealants, foams, coatings or adhesives. The present invention also provides a foam composition comprising said microcapsules and a pressurized can containing said foam composition. The invention is also directed to a release mechanism for releasing the substantially leach-proof capsules.
