Surface modified agglomerates of indium-tin-oxohydrate comprises: indium (80-98.9 wt.%); tin (2-20 wt.%); and carbon (0.01-1 wt.%), where the sum of indium, tin and carbon is at least 99 wt.%. Independent claims are included for: (1) a process for producing the surface modified agglomerates, comprising (a) adjusting the pH of an aqueous solution containing indium- and tin-compounds and one or more surface modifying components from 3.5 to 4.5 to obtain a reaction mixture and separating the dissolved reaction products and unreacted ingredients from the reaction mixture, and (b) subjecting the obtained dispersion to a spray drying process; (2) a process for producing surface modified agglomerates of indium tin oxide, comprising drying the surface modified agglomerate of indium-tin-oxohydrate at 150-310[deg] C on the air and subsequently calcining under reduced conditions; (3) a surface modified agglomerate of indium tin oxide obtained by the above process; (4) a process for producing a surface modified powder of indium tin oxide and its dispersion, comprising combining the surface modified agglomerate and one or more solvents to obtain a mixture, transferring the mixture to a dispersion by a dispersing agglomerate and optionally separating liquid components from the dispersion to obtain a powder; (5) the surface modified indium tin oxide powder and the dispersion containing the surface modified indium tin oxide powder obtained by the above process; (6) a process for producing a coating composition or molding composition, in which the agglomerates of indium tin oxide or the dispersion of indium tin oxide powder and in each case one or more binders are used; and (7) the coating composition or molding composition with a surface resistance of less than 1000 ohms, obtained by the above process.
