The invention relates to a method in which a layer (4) of insulating material and a facing plate (14) are positioned against a pre-existing wall (2). The method comprises the following steps of: a) attaching at least one layer (4) of insulating material to the pre-existing wall (2); b) installing pipes (12) or similar; and c) attaching a closing panel including a facing plate (14), such as to cover the insulating material attached to the pre-existing wall (2).
