The invention relates to a method for obtaining sub-zero cold in chambers of freezer storage plants with a capacity of 120-160 cubic decimetres. The method is carried out using a throttling recuperation cycle in a compression cooling plant which operates on a mixture of refrigerating media, consisting of isobutane, ethylene, methane and nitrogen. The heat exchanger-recuperator which is used in the recuperation cycle features an inner delivery pipeline in the form of a cylindrical helical with a helical channel, and an outer suction pipeline in the form of an inlet chamber, an annular channel and an outlet chamber, the aforesaid pipelines being arranged one inside the other, and an additional tubular member, which is disposed on the delivery pipeline and is twisted into the form of a cylindrical helical.
