Methods are provided for generating an airfoil (12) including an aerodynamically-shaped fillet (22). 2D fillet curve offset values are defined by obtaining a 2D airfoil image having airfoil surface line (15) and transition region (21) interconnecting airfoil surface line (15) to flowpath surface line (14) with 2D fillet curve (A). Flowpath offset lines (26, 26-1...26-5) are generated on image at predetermined flowpath offset values and, in the transition region (21), graphically represent a flowpath offset surface. Intersection point between 2D fillet curve (A) and each flowpath offset line (26, 26-1...26-5) is determined. Distance between airfoil surface line (14) and each intersection point generates airfoil offset values (B). Airfoil and flowpath offset surfaces according to airfoil offset values and flowpath offset values respectively and 3D fillet streamline curves (27, 27-1...27-5) are generated on computer model to define the aerodynamically-shaped fillet (22). Each 3D fillet streamline curve (27, 27-1...27-5) is an intersection between the airfoil (12) and flowpath offset surfaces.
