The invention relates to a fitting (1) for a hoof equine, particularly a horse. The fitting (1) comprises a base plate (2) and at least one elevator (3 to 5), wherein the base plate (2) is connected to the at least one elevator (3 to 5). The at least one elevator (3 to 5) has hoof wall-mounting means (33, 34, 35a and 35b), which are adapted to the at least one elevator (3 to 5) reversibly detachably to the hoof wall of equidae, particularly the horse, to attach and to decrease again, but without having to destroy the connection to the hoof, with repeated removing and replacing, during a fitting period. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method of shoeing a equidae, particularly of a horse, with an above-mentioned fitting (1).
