The disclosure relates to a method for improving production of oil from an oil reservoir, wherein the method comprises the steps of providing fuel comprising waste, the fuel being adapted to be combusted in a furnace or gasified in a gasifier; combusting fuel in a furnace for producing heat or gasifying fuel in a gasifier for producing combustible gas and combusting combustible gas in a gas burner for producing heat; producing steam using heat produced in the step of combusting fuel or combustible gas; and feeding steam produced in the step of producing steam to the oil reservoir.;The disclosure also relates to a method of producing steam, wherein the method comprises the steps of providing fuel comprising solid recovered fuel (SRF) and waste from oil drilling or oil refining adapted to be combusted in a furnace or gasified in a gasifier; combusting fuel in a furnace for producing heat or gasifying fuel in a gasifier for producing combustible gas and combusting combustible gas in a gas burner for producing heat; and producing steam using the heat produced in the step of combusting fuel or combustible gas.
