The present invention relates to a method and an installation for filling a gas-insulated high or medium voltage electrical apparatus for which the insulating gas comprises a mixture of heptafluoroisobutyronitrile ((CF 3 ) 2 CFCN) and carbon dioxide . Said method and said installation use a mixture of (CF 3 ) 2 CFCN and CO 2 in pressurized liquid form which is heated to a temperature greater than or equal to the critical temperature of the mixture.
