A solenoid valve assembly 1 comprises a solenoid operator 10 with a yoke core 14 and an armature 20. The armature is movably guided such that it can move back and forth in a longitudinal direction relative to the yoke core between a starting and switched position, while moving a valve element along with it. The armature and the yoke core comprise a projecting male choke part 30, 31 and a recessed female choke part 21 that are engageable into each other in a longitudinal direction. Cross-sectional dimensions of a circumferential outer sidewall of the projecting male choke part decrease along the longitudinal direction away from its front face, and/or cross-sectional dimensions of a circumferential inner sidewall of the recessed female choke part increase along the longitudinal direction away from its front face towards its bottom face.
