PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine learning device and a machine learning method that can detect a sign of a failure before a main axis of a machine tool or a motor which drives the main axis, and to provide a failure prediction device having the machine learning device and a failure prediction system.SOLUTION: A machine learning device 5 learns a failure prediction of a motor 214 which drives a main axis 212 of a machine tool 2 or a main axis, and includes: a state observation part 52 for observing a state variable including at least one of the output data of a motor control device 3 for controlling the motor, the output data of a detector 11 for detecting a state of the motor, and the output data of a measuring instrument 12; a determination data acquisition part 51 for acquiring the determination data that determines the presence or absence of a degree of the failure of the main axis or the motor; and a learning part 53 for learning the failure prediction of the main axis or the motor according to the data set created based on the combination of the state variable and the determination data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
