WARNING SYSTEM FOR POTENTIALLY ERRONEOUS MEASUREMENT RESULTS IN AUTOMATED ANALYZER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warning system for potentially erroneous measurement results in an automated analyzer.SOLUTION: An automated analyzer 1 comprises: a device 12 for measuring a property of a liquid sample; a device 10 for transporting a liquid container from a first receiving position 4 into a second receiving position 14; and data memory storing a data record with information for each liquid container, which facilitates unique identification of each liquid container. A method of operation comprises steps of; monitoring a transportation process of a liquid container using one or more sensors; and, if it is determined that a liquid container has been lost during the transport process, checking whether the lost liquid container was filled with liquid or not. If it is determined that the lost liquid container was filled with liquid, all other liquid containers located at a receiving position 4, 14 of the automated analyzer 1 are labeled as potentially contaminated containers by being added to the data record.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
