PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for installing a clamp-on type ultrasonic flowmeter which is easy to install, and with which it is possible to accurately measure the flow rate of a fluid.;SOLUTION: A method for installing a clamp-on type ultrasonic flowmeter includes: installing a first ultrasonic transducer 101 for injecting a first ultrasonic signal into piping 10 in which a fluid flows; installing a second ultrasonic transducer 102 for injecting a second ultrasonic signal into the piping 10 at a position where the first ultrasonic signal is receivable; applying an acoustic matching coating to the piping 10 and forming an acoustic matching layer 22; and arranging, on the acoustic matching layer 22, an ultrasonic absorption material 21 for absorbing an ultrasonic noise component inside the piping.
