PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rare-earth metal adsorbent capable of adsorbing efficiently a rare earth metal contained in water without using a large quantity of an organic solvent; and to provide a rare-earth metal adsorbing device, and a production method of the rare-earth metal adsorbent.SOLUTION: A rare-earth metal adsorbent in an embodiment has a carrier and a group expressed by following formula (1) or (2). The group expressed by following formula (1) or (2) is bonded to the carrier surface. In the formula (1), n shows an integer of 2-4: ≡Si-(CH)-NH-COCHOCHCOOH (1) and -CH(OH)-CH-NH-COCHOCHCOOH (2).SELECTED DRAWING: None
