PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration capable of automatically detecting winding of yarn spun in a state of shortage of a raw material caused by supply shortage of a roving on a yarn feeding bobbin in a yarn winding device.SOLUTION: A yarn winding unit 4 winds yarn 20 of a yarn feeding bobbin 6 on which yarn spun in a ring spinning machine is wound so as to form a package 30. The yarn winding unit 4 includes: a unit control section 50; a yarn feeding section 18; a package forming section 60; and a yarn monitoring device 15. The unit control section 50 controls the yarn winding unit 4. The yarn feeding section 18 supports the yarn feeding bobbin 6. The package forming section 60 winds the yarn 20 of the yarn feeding section 18 so as to form the package 30. The yarn monitoring device 15 is disposed between the yarn feeding section 18 and the package forming section 60 so as to monitor the state of the running yarn 20. The unit control section 50 specifies the yarn feeding bobbin 6 on which yarn having shortage of a raw material caused by supply shortage of a roving in the ring spinning machine is wound from a monitoring result of the yarn monitoring device 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
