PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a heat transmission coefficient simply and in a short time as an index expressing heat insulation property of a surface member.SOLUTION: A heat transmission coefficient estimation system comprises a prediction processing part which predicts stable temperature of an indoor surface of a surface member in a changing process of indoor surface temperature of the surface member by application of heat by a heater. The prediction processing part, in the case where an approximation curve is x=0 and a measured value at a specific point of time is y, assumes an unknown number a of an equation expressed as "y=-(b-y)a+b" to an optional value less than 1 (S34). The processing part calculates a provisional value of an unknown number b based on an assumed value of the unknown number a and a measured value at a subsequent first point of time (S35). The processing part compares a measured value at a subsequent second point of time and a predicted value at the second point of time based on a calculated provisional value (S42), and determines the provisional value used for calculating the predicted value which is determined to be the same as the measured value as a convergence value corresponding to a stable temperature (S46).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
