PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article (1) whose front and back are easy to determine.SOLUTION: There are provided: an absorbent body (10); a back side waistline part (20) positioned on one end side of the absorbent body (10); an abdominal side waistline part (30) positioned on the other end side of the absorbent body (10); and a pair of joint areas (40) joining both end parts of the abdominal side waistline part (30) in a horizontal direction to both end parts of the back side waistline part (20) in the horizontal direction. An upper end part of the back side waistline part (20) in a vertical direction is positioned above in the vertical direction of the upper end of the abdominal side waistline part (30) in the vertical direction, and a high-density area (50) higher in density than its surroundings is provided for both end parts in the horizontal direction in the upper end part of the back side waistline part (20).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
