PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide nickel powder used for an inner electrode paste for electronic components and obtained by a wet method, which is fine nickel powder having high crystallinity and excellent sintering characteristics and thermal shrinkage characteristics.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for obtaining crystallized powder of nickel by precipitating nickel with a reduction reaction. The production method comprises: preparing a rection solution by mixing a nickel salt solution containing a water-soluble nickel salt and a metal salt of a metal nobler than nickel, and a mixed reductant solution containing hydrazine and an alkali metal hydroxide; after a reduction reaction has started in the reaction solution, further adding the hydrazine additionally to the reaction solution so that a total amount of the initial hydrazine added to the mixed reductant solution and the hydrazine additionally added to the reaction solution becomes a predetermined amount. The nickel powder has roughly a spherical particle shape, an average particle size of 0.05 to 0.5 μm, an average crystallite diameter of 30 to 80 nm, a nitrogen content of 0.02 mass% or less, and an alkali metal element content of 0.01 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
