PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a blended yarn in which bamboo fibers and other fibers are blended.SOLUTION: A method for producing a blended yarn comprises the following process. Bamboo is divided into a plurality of pieces by using a bamboo splitting machine, and bamboo joints are removed. The divided bamboo is immersed in a 1-6% alkaline aqueous solution for about 36 hours, and is then drained and dried. The dried bamboo is fed to a recarding machine and is shaved down to form fine fibers. The fibers are sorted by removing those out of specification and are dried. The bamboo fibers are subjected to dry distillation in a kettle set at a prescribed air pressure and temperature for a fixed time to form dry-distilled fibrillated bamboo fibers. The dry-distilled fibrillated bamboo fibers are blended with cotton fibers from which foreign matter is removed in an opening and picking process. In a carding process, the fibers are aligned in a parallel state to form a sliver. A plurality of the slivers are combined and drawn to form a uniform string-like drawn sliver. The drawn sliver is further drawn and twisted by a roving machine to form a roving yarn. In a fine spinning process, the roving yarn is further drawn and twisted. In addition, the yarns are joined and wound into a cone while being rewound into a large package.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
