METHOD OF PREPARING LEUKOCYTE-RICH PLASMA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy method of taking samples in order to meet demanding speed required in measurement of leukocytes and the amount of endotoxin in plasma in a patient with infection, and to prevent deactivation of endotoxin before the measurement takes place in view of the fact that the amount of endotoxin is minute.;SOLUTION: A method of present invention involves cooling a sample of a biological origin, such as blood, immediately after sampling, and adding a cooled hemagglutination agent to the cooled sample to obtain leukocyte-rich plasma in order to measure endotoxin bound to leukocytes as well, which prevents degradation of endotoxin in the plasma during a period from sampling to measurement, and prevents temperature-dependent uptake deactivation of endotoxin bound to leukocytes.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
