PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveform data storage device which varies frame size according to tone colors (waveform types).SOLUTION: A waveform data storage device 100 determines one frame size as 256 bytes since effective bit length of the respective waveform samples (predicted error data E) varies, and common effective bit length of a former half frame and a latter half frame does not match to each other in an A section in which waveform suddenly varies, and on the other hand, determines the one frame size as 512 bytes since the effective bit length of the respective waveform samples (predicted error data E) does not vary, and the common effective bit length of the former half frame and the latter half frame match to each other in a B section in which the waveform gradually varies.
