PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database system for generating an access plan with reduced computer processing load, a database access method, a database access program, and an information processing apparatus.SOLUTION: A database system includes: a first information processing apparatus which accesses a first database; and a second information processing apparatus which accesses a second database which is a backup system for the first database. The first information processing apparatus includes a first transmission unit which transmits a query for execution plan information to be regenerated, out of execution plan information of database access on the first database, to the second information processing apparatus. The second information processing apparatus includes: an update processing unit which updates first information indicating characteristics of the second database, in accordance with update of data in the second database; a generation processing unit which regenerates execution plan information to be regenerated, on the basis of the first information and the query; and a second transmission unit which transmits the regenerated execution plan information to the first information processing apparatus.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
