PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a powder sample for cross-sectional observation capable of simply measuring a porosity of a powder material in a short period of time; a cross-sectional observation method of the powder sample; and a method for measuring a porosity of a powder sample.SOLUTION: A production method for obtaining a powder sample for cross-sectional observation includes: a molding step of pressure-molding raw material powder to obtain a pellet; an impregnation step of dropping a liquid resin to an upper face of the pellet, then charging the pellet into a decompression chamber, impregnating the pellet with the liquid resin under reduced pressure atmosphere, and obtaining a liquid resin-impregnated pellet; a curing step of adding energy to the liquid resin-impregnated pellet, curing the liquid resin, and thereby obtaining a resin curing pellet; and a polishing step of subjecting the upper face of the resin curing pellet to rough polishing by mechanical polishing, and then subjecting the upper face thereof to ion polishing. The powder sample for cross-sectional observation is observed by an electron microscope, and porosity is measured using an electron microscope image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
