PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grip with improved strike transmission property, and a fishing rod having the light-weight grip.SOLUTION: A grip is a grip 10 for a fishing rod, for example. The grip 10 includes a core material layer 15 externally mounted on a rod body 2a, and a fiber-reinforced resin layer 16 for covering an outer surface of the core material layer 15. The fiber-reinforced resin layer 16 is provided so as to be in contact with the outer surface of the rod body 2a. The fiber-reinforced resin layer 16 has an attenuation ratio smaller than that of the core material layer 15.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
