PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of leather capable of reducing used amount of a hexavalent chromium treatment agent and manufacturing the leather at low cost.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of leather includes a hexavalent chromium treatment process for treating chromium tanned leather in a tanning process from a silver surface of the leather by 1 to 2.5 mm in a thickness direction of the leather by a hexavalent chromium treatment agent containing a hexavalent chromium reduction compound capable of reducing hexavalent chromium to trivalent chromium. The thickness of the leather is preferably 3 to 15 mm. Preferably the hexavalent chromium reduction compound is an organic compound (A) having a specific structure having reduction property to trivalency by acting with hexavalent chromium and a hydroxyphenyl group and no aldehyde group and no carboxyl group.;SELECTED DRAWING: None;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
