PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of not stabilizing a double helical structure but selectively stabilizing a quadruple helical structure.SOLUTION: Deoxynucleoside in which a methyl group bound to carbon at the 5-position of a pyridine ring of thymidine is substituted into a group containing alkylene oxide is not stabilized even if a double helical structure is formed, but can be stabilized if a quadruple helical structure is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: None
