PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily identify a location of an occurrence of abnormality.;SOLUTION: A high-frequency wave generator used for a plasma ignition device comprises an output section and a control section. The output section outputs high-frequency waves to an antenna which emits the same into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine. The control section instructs the output section to output the high-frequency waves on the basis of an ignition signal controlling spark discharge through an ignition plug and a control signal controlling output of the high-frequency waves. When receiving input of either one of the ignition signal or the control signal, the control section determines whether or not the input of the other of the ignition signal or the control signal is received within a predetermined detection period and, when the same is not received within the detection period, detects abnormality in an input path of either the ignition signal or the control signal.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2017,JPO&INPIT
