PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gold nanoparticle composite that is chemically inert and shows good biocompatibility, and furthermore shows luminescence in the near-infrared region.;SOLUTION: The problem is solved by a gold nanoparticle composite including a gold nanoparticle having a luminescence in the visible region, a gold nanoparticle not having luminescence in the visible region, and a thermo-responsive polymer for composing the two kind gold nanoparticles. It is preferable that the luminescent gold nanoparticle having luminescence in the visible region is one in which thiol is surface-bonded, and the gold nanoparticle not having luminescence in the visible region is a gold nanoparticles not covered with thiol.
