PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake control method that can inhibit over speed of a wind turbine in a non-contact manner with good responsiveness and obtain a constant power generation amount even under a strong wind, and to provide a small-sized wind power generator.SOLUTION: In addition to a wind turbine 1 and a shaft 2, a generator 20, an eddy current brake 10 and a brake controller 9, a strain gauge and an anemometer for detecting a strain amount generated in a connection part of an arm 6 and a blade 7 as well as a wind speed in the vicinity of the wind turbine are provided so that the brake controller supplies power to the eddy current brake to control rotation of the wind turbine when the strain amount generated in the connection part of the arm and the blade and the wind speed in the vicinity of the wind turbine are larger/higher than a reference value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
