PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric dust collector which can improve a capacity of removing particles adhered to a dust collection electrode.SOLUTION: An electric dust collector includes a dust collection electrode 10 having a plurality of electrode elements 12 arranged in a predetermined direction, and a traveling-wave generation circuit 8 which applies a potential on the plurality of electrode elements 12. The traveling-wave generation circuit 8 periodically applies a first potential, a second potential higher than the first potential, and a third potential higher than the second potential on each of the plurality of electrode elements 12. The first potential is applied on one of the two electrode elements adjacent to the electrode element 12, on which the second potential is applied, out of the plurality of electrode elements 12, and the third potential is applied on the other one.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
