PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a weather resistant coated steel material capable of suppressing corrosion under a coated film in a high salt content environment.SOLUTION: There is provided a weather resistant coated steel material containing a steel material containing, by mass%, C:0.03 to 0.15%, Si:0.02 to 1.0%, Mn:0.05 to 1.10%, Cu:0.05 to 1.0% and Ni:0.5 to 6.5% and further limitation to S:0.010% or less and P:0.025% or less and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and a Sn containing layer contacting a surface of the steel material, the Sn containing layer contains a Sn ion supply material and a binder and the amount of the Sn ion supply material is 1 to 54 mass% in terms of metal Sn based on all solid component mass of the Sn containing layer.
