PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a creep damage place screening gauge capable of efficiently performing screening for previously restricting pipe lines to be targeted before evaluating the life irrespective of the specification of the pipe line, and a method for evaluating the life of the pipe line.SOLUTION: A creep damage place screening gauge comprises: a gauge body 2; a receiving part 3 formed to notch the front edge of the gauge body 2 and receiving a pipe line 100 entered from the front; a rod 4 movable back and forth to the pipe line 100 received in the receiving part 3 and attached to the gauge body 2; and a display for displaying a position at the head end 4b of the rod 4. The receiving part 3 is formed by a pair of slopes 3a separated from each other as they go ahead, and the pair of slopes 3a is inclined at same angle θ to the movement path CL1 of the rod 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
