PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a torsion elimination device of an elevator role which can surely eliminate torsion generated at the rope.SOLUTION: This torsion elimination device of an elevator rope comprises: rope tension detection means which detects rope tension generated at the rope which is anchored by a rope metal fitting 2 at one end, and suspended in a hoistway as the deformation of an elastic body; and rope rotation means which rotates the rope around a center shaft to a direction for eliminating the torsion which is generated when the tension is applied to the rope according to the rope tension which is detected by the rope tension detection means. The rope tension detection means is constituted of a coil spring 13 or the like. The rope rotation means has a rotating body 11 and rotation conversion means for rotating the rotating body 11 with an axial line of the rotating body 11 as a center. The rotation conversion means has a spiral groove 19 formed at the rotating body 11, and a protrusion 12 engaged with the groove 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
