The aspects disclosed in the detailed description include a simple multi-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication scheme for interchip and intra-chip communication. In an exemplary aspect, the MIMO technique applies to inter-chip and intra-chip communication systems. In particular, the electrical signal source is provided with a programmable control function to support the default MIMO communication scheme on MIMO channels including possible communication paths between multiple transmission endpoints and receiving endpoints. Furthermore, when the programmable control function determines that the MIMO channel is a tridiagonal MIMO channel, the simplified MIMO communication scheme can be used accordingly. Simple MIMO communication schemes use inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) while reducing computational complexity. By using the simple MIMO communication method, inter-chip or intra-chip communication can be supported while reducing the complexity of the embodiment, reducing power consumption, and improving robustness.
