In the advanced adaptive modulation coding (AMC) scheme adapt the coding rate and the parity check matrix (PCM) for low density parity check (LDPC) code according to modulation format and variable iterative receiver. The order distribution for PCM adaptation is designed by heuristic optimization to minimize the required SNR via extrinsic information transfer (EXIT) orbit analysis for finite iterative decoding. Use dynamic window decoding by generating spatially coupled PCM for quasi-cyclic LDPC convolutional codes. It also provides a method for optimizing both labeling and decoding complexity for higher order and higher dimensional modulation. The problem of using a number of different LDPC codes for different modulation formats and variable iterative decoding is also addressed by linear dependent PCM adaptation over the iteration count to keep using the common generator matrix. This PCM adaptation can improve the convergence speed of belief propagation decoding and alleviate the error floor problem.
