PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine, a system for managing the number of stitches, and a method for managing the number of stitches which, when the number of stitches requiring the replacement of a sewing needle is reached, can stop the driving of the sewing machine and can urge a user to replace the sewing needle.SOLUTION: A CPU of a sewing machine increases the present number of stitches by one each time a needle bar is moved up and down once (S23: YES, S24). If the present number of stitches is equal to or more than the set number of stitches (S28: YES), the CPU displays a warning display screen (S29), and shifts an operation mode to a non-driving mode (S36). In the non-driving mode, even when a user operates a pedal, the sewing machine is not driven. After the replacement of a sewing needle, when a password input by a manager agrees with a second password (S37, S38: YES), the CPU resets the present number of stitches (S42), and shifts the operation mode to a driving mode (S43).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
