The present disclosure provides in some embodiments nucleic acid nanostructures subsaturated with polyamine polymers. The present disclosure also includes a first nucleic acid nanostructure coupled to a second nucleic acid nanostructure by a pH-sensitive contact moiety according to an aspect, thereby having a nanoparticulate having an outer surface and an inner surface. Nucleic acid nanocapsules that form capsules are also provided.
