This document relates to a method and system for estimating a value that can be derived from a large data set, if available, calculated from a smaller data set that can be used. A specific example of the currently described method and system is a method and system for estimating values calculated from various medical records, related statistics and virtual data sets. Multiple models can be adopted by the currently described methods and systems to estimate favorable statistics and calculated values from the smaller data sets observed. Such models are adopted sequentially, and relatively fine-grained estimates can be generated through the amount of various multidimensional data sets.
