摘要
The present disclosure includes embodiments of probes useful for distinguishing bacterial species that are resistant to carbapenem from susceptible bacterial strains by selectively detecting metallo-β-lactamases, particularly carbapenemases. A cephalosporin-based probe with a 6,7 R, R configuration can undergo cleavage by β-lactamase, but cannot distinguish between cleavage by metallo-β-lactamase and cleavage by other β-lactamases. By modifying the 6,7 position of the β-lactam ring from the R, R configuration to S, R, cephalosporins can be cleaved by metallo-β-lactamases, or carbapenemases, but are substantially different for other lactamases. Can be uncut. In addition, selectivity can be introduced by modifying the side chain of the cephalosporin so that the probe can distinguish between different types of metallo-β-lactamases, bacterial strains and produced metallo-β-lactamases. The type can be specified more narrowly.
